The stackables definitely have convenience that you don't get with combos with the ability to have 2 loads going at one time.
We actually had the option for stackables this time but kept with the combo because we like to put a load in at bed time and have it washed + dry when we wake up in the morning. Even better: the clothing washer is i my kid's room and they fold the laundry each morning!
Definitely vented, no matter what.
