Splendide washer dryer combo knob

We just bought a used rv and the right knob is off on the washer /dryer. We  can't just put it back on because the inside is off center so the knob won't go on all the way and just falls off. We've googled it but no suggestions work. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it? We certainly don't want to replace it -I'm not even sure how we'd get it out! And if we could just get the knob on I'm  sure it would work. Thank you

The left one is for the dryer and the right one is for the washer

are they the same nob, meaning will it pull off and fit on the washer post?  you could go back and forth untill you buy a new one for the washer.

  • Quick google search yielded about a dozen places to buy a replacement knob.

  • they are suposed to be off center, usaly looks like a "D" shape in the knob and then the post that sticks out is a corosponding "D" shape.  Could be another shape, but the most common is a "D" shape if the knob is broken out then you need to order a new one or go to a hard ware store that carries apliance accesories, or a junk yard and pull one off a different appliance that has the right one

I’d hope they could discern square peg round hole type things. I think they mean the shaft coming out from the control valve or whatever it’s hooked to is right against the front panel of the washer and sopping the knob from going all the way on.
But who knows without some feedback from the person asking for help…

could be, I think that would be more obvious and cause you to call a repair man or open it up and see why its all bent over though..

but they did say in the post if they could just get a new knob it would work, which leads me to suspect the inside of the knob is broken and pushed off center.

  • You mean the post sticking out of the panel is not centered on the hole and the knob is too large of diameter to fit with the post off center?

Take the panel off and adjust something or enlarge the hole in the panel.

The knob is fine, it just won't go on due to the inside not being centered with the space on the outside so when we try to push it on it just pops back out. My husband took it apart to try to recenter it but that didn't work. I'll get out there today and take a picture. Thank you all for answering and I'm sorry I haven't responded. I didn't realize I had gotten replies. I’ll do a better job of keeping an eye on this thread.

A picture would help. So it sounds like the hole isn't drilled out on center? If so, can you just widen the hole?
