We moved ours to the bed of the truck from the back bumper as we carry a couple of light weight bikes. The area behind the hitch to the tailgate was not being used so we thought why not. Use a bicycle cable lock to secure it to the hitch. That tire saved us from damaging the ruck bed sides one time we pulled out and the hitch was not closed. So its location served a dual purpose. Have thought about mounting it under the frame behind the front legs, but since we have the JT's installed that could create another problem, so will leave the tire in the bed.
