Storing Honda 2000

My 2000W stays in my front storage compartment till I need it, then I drag it out to use it. Been doing it that way for 3+ seasons with no issues.

The Honda has a fuel cap OFF position to prevent fumes from getting out... Pretty neat to have...

X2 Been doing this for 12+ years with same results.

Long as the gas is turned off and the tank cap seals, I don't see why not. Wouldn't hurt to put a vent in the compartment though, just for GP's.

My pair of Honda 2000s have been in the fifth wheel storage compartment since I got them in 2008. I do not detect any gasoline odor from that area.

Same here. My 2000 is always in the front compartment, full of gas and ready to go.

I have stored mine in the front compartment now for 4 years and no problem.I also make sure there is Stabil in the gas tank so fuel won't get bad.

One of the problems in that the Honda generators have a combined fuel and engine shutoff device. On my eu1000i I moved the engine shutoff to a separate switch. This allows for running the carb out of gas. Chris

Yes, running the carb out of gas definitely helps keep the carb clear and operational for the next time the generator is used, if it will sit unused for long periods of time.

Another way to go is to drain the carb bowl via the drain plug in bottom of bowl, if the carb has one. My Honda 5hp air compressor engine's carb has the drain plug and is easily accessible.
