Purchased this Fifth wheel a Travel Supreme 2005 last March and just started to use it two weeks ago.A strident beeping sound started to drive us crazy. Three successive beeps twice, sometimes, one single beep some other times at different intervals. Sometimes it was 24 hours before the beeping sound started again.Checked the LP sensor, replaced the LP sensor (In case), disconnected the 12v battery, disconnected the power converter a Inteli Power 9100, disconnected the awning wind sensor, removed the awning fuse , checked the voltages , disconnected the vacuum cleaner, called an RV tech for advice, called the original owner for advice and asked why the smoke detector had been removed and could not be located( he didn't have a clue), replaced a new smoke detector, climbed the roof to blow in the awning wind sensor, made sure all the valves of the propane tanks were closed, searched for hours different RV forums, removed all deodorant from proximity of the LP gas detector, made sure the dryer timer was really at OFF position, told my dog to stop passing gases.Again, this morning..beeping at 04h00. Our dog ...again..going crazy...WE are going crazy !!!!!!!I finally climbed on top of the RV, blow in the wind sensor, maybe some insects within. Noticed lots of water on the awning over the left slide-out. Climbed down,use the ladder to try to remove as much water as possible from the top of the awning and then.....what do I find, outside, between the slide-out and the awning ??? The old smoke detector !!!!What the heck was it doing there? No clue!!It was obviously the alarm indicating low battery voltage that was driving us crazy. We can now start enjoying our fifth wheel !!!!

I'm sure it was not funny to you, but .... That is funny! And yes it would have driven me crazy also.

It wasn't at the time, but will be funny in a few weeks. Glad you found the culprit. And that the real fix was so cheap.

I used to work in an office where the co-workers liked to prank each other. One of them had left a dead goldfish in my office and it took me a full day to find where the stink was coming from.So I had an old smoke detector that I took apart and placed in a very hidden spot in his office. I powered it with a very weak 9v battery. It would "chirp" about every 3-5 minutes. Drove him crazy!

So, could the smoke detector have fallen off while the slide was in, landing on the top of the retracted slide, then when you set it up it managed to squeeze through the seal and end up outside between the slideout awning and the slide roof? That seems to be the only thing I can think of. Or it was taken down and set on the roof the the retracted slide and then it went through the seal. Either way, glad you found it...

Too funny, Laserman! I've had an occasional issue with a weird beeping noise and it turned out to be the stupid stereo, of all things. Only happened if I pulled a battery cable without first hitting the disconnect and the only way to fix it once it started, was to pull the thing out of the wall and unplug it. Crazy! Another crazy one was when the LP detector went off, NOT the CO detector, when we fired up a generator about 15' away from the coach with the windows open.

Look at it this way Laserman51 - you know your electrical system a lot better with all the checks that you did !!!

Good story....

We recently lost a picture (8 x 10 frame) that we had velcroed above our main slide...well, we know right were it was....it passed through the slide out hole and was outside sitting on top of the slide...under the slide topper....it could have been a real mess had it got caught passing through....the frame was OK also.
