I've had some discussion with Pullrite about that bearing and there have been at least a couple of different designs of it; the newest, I believe, is a nylon bearing that doesn't require any lubrication, and I don't think the older ones can be lubricated.
I do spray a graphite spray on the vertical inside sides of the way tubes (as well as the top sides).
I use EZ Slide, not Slip Plate, graphite spray which is readily available at Tractor Supply.
I'll sort of touch up the graphite surface after a very long day of towing, and if not every other day. If you look carefully at the top surface of the way tubes, you can see if bare metal is showing through the graphite film. When in doubt, spray.
