Surprised when I found this shackel bolt

I am getting ready for a trip this weekend and craweled under the trailer to install a new sewer cap. This trailer is only 5 monthes old so not sure when the nut may have backed out. Lucky to have found it now.
  • Contact the manufacturer had insist that they send a mobile mechanic to take care of this problem and properly inspect all other suspension parts.

It looks like the hanger legs are bent and the weld is breaking loose. You may need more then a bolt.

    :h

I was kind of wondering the same thing.

Although I give the OP the benefit of it is just the camera angle used in taking the photo here.

Here's to hoping for a simple fix and solution to your problem.
  • The shackle is probably bent a bit too, and the hole will no longer be tight for a new bolt. I'd call the dealer, explain the situation, and see what they want to do about it. You need to let the dealer know because if you have issues with this shackle, or the hanger, or the spring, at a later date you'll be able to say that you had a problem earlier and notified them. Just a CYA.

The dealer is 200 miles away so I will fix it myself. The bolt is bent so I will need to replace that bolt.
  • I will need to take the weight off that spring to see if I can jar it loose
