teflon plates

11 years and second fifth wheel ,still going.

Gouges scaring.....small little pebbles/grit etc

3000# of pin weight turning gonna leave some groves in that teflon plate

I take mine off for storage. Moisture gets on top of it and has caused some rusting on the bottom of the pin box.

I've seen them as cheap as $7.00 and at most $15.00....

If it looks worn, replace it and don't stop at Starbucks on the way to the store.

Well mine has some gouges in it too but still stays on there and I have no plans on replacing it unless it needs it. Just was wondering what causes them to wear out and when to replace it.

They tend to wear around the kingpin & fall off. Problem solved by using some calking to glue it to the kingpin plate.

Now that you mention it, mine has some gouges and is scared up. Dealer put it on 8/15/12, when I bought the new FW. The one on my previous FW, was nice and smooth, after many years of use.

Do you suppose the dealer gave me a cheapo, some are different quality? I did change truck and hitch in early 13. I just hope my FANBOY hitch is not the cause! :W
