Whenever I hear about a drawer launching itself from the cabinet I think about this.
We were doing the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race and we were in the Bass Strait in 60 knots of wind, in really huge seas. The silverware drawer left the cabinet on a big wave and crashed, which sounded much like breaking glass in the dark. We awoke to chaos and escaped from our pipe berth bunks grasping for life vests and heading above deck trying to clip in our safety harness tethers before we are exposed to conditions above. In the morning there were scratches in the headliner above from the silverware below!
When I hear that sound now, I can levitate above my bunk, which my wife doesn't seem to enjoy.
