Things that I should get?

Hi guys and gals, not new to rv'ing as we have owned a 24' tt since 08 but upgraded to a 35' 5th wheel recently and this time we want to do things the easier way since we have a decent amount of space. While we owned the tt I never had the goodies to make life easier. When hooking up the sewage hose I had a hard time leveling the hose and what not, this time I want to have a set of hose support and was wondering what do you guys recommend, I already have the Y adapter and need to buy 2 extra hoses.

I'm not familiar with what's needed with a 5th wheel but I guess it's very similar to a tt, any suggestions if there is something I should consider.

Next is a list of things I would like to get, if you wish you can add to my list with your suggestions, diy ideas are welcome too.

Wheel chocks
Leveling pads
Wheel leveling blocks
Sewer hose support 3 in total as we have 2 discharge
50amp to 30amp adapter
Sewer hose storage compartment

Thanks in advance.

  • You may or may not want to carry a step ladder. In case you do.

    7' double sided ladder

Stores in PVC fence post cover.

Here's an idea for storing sewer hose.

PVC fence post cover/PVC rain gutter mounted under 5er.

  • Things you may or may not need at all ...
    JT Strong Arms
    Air Bags
    TPMS
    Wireless observation system "backup camera"
    Surge protector
    Tire inflators
    Safety flares, roadside safety alerts
    Taller ladder

and the list goes on ......
  • If you got couple of cell phones, you can forget the radios.

one cal the other and put them both on speaker and you got hands free commo in the truck.
  • I use plastic household gutter to support my sewer hose. It comes in 10 ft. sections. Saw each section in half and it stores easily. A few wooden blocks of varied thickness to support the gutter works great.
  • Tool kit, box of the blue gloves, 2 way radios can be handy so the wife can help guide you in, ext cord, shelf liners, tire gauge, nylon disk for hitch, list of procedures for packing up, hooks to hang keys up, inverter, good flashlight, charging cords for phones, + lots more I can't think of right now,
  • Might want to think of a stabilizer for the kingpin, This suggestion may start a conversations both pro/con. But it works for us. We also mounted 2 of the (3 drawer) plastic bins from Walmart in the basement for hose adapters, tools, etc. and made fishing rod holders from pieces of PVC pipe (mounted those to the ceiling)of compartment. Make sure (when/if) drilling you don't drill into wiring or pipes. I'm sure others will have other ideas. Congrats! on the new 5'er, and Happy Camping !!
