Thinking of getting a new 5er!

there are several good layouts in the 31-33ft range with a GVWR of 10-11K. Those would all be within the safe and comfortable range of your truck IMHO.

I look at my setup - 33ft 5er/ 10.4kGVWR and towing it with a 3/4 ton and I couldn't be happier with how well it tows and how well matched of a setup it is.

Don't get too caught up in any one brand, go look at all of them for yourself and try to look past the "high end finished" to tell if that unit is well put together.

Cedar Creek customer service is A+ in my book. I had a window shipped to me to replace one that broke for unknown reasons, and the warranty had expired.

We recently went to an Arctic Fox 27-5L, it's just under 30' in length. For the two of us, 2 dogs and on occasion a couple of grandkids, it's a very good floor plan. To us, it seems like a larger trailer than the longer one we had before we made the change. Good Luck and enjoy your search!

That may be your experience(and I don't know what that is based on-do you one one ?). Mine is just the opposite. Have had a few parts mailed directly to my home from the factory. No if, ands or buts. Didn't want the old parts back, no questions as why I needed them. And my experience is similar to many other Grand Design Owners.

Make sure you check the CCC on Lite 5th wheels. Not always but most of the time they have low CCC's. If you plan on extended trips then you'll be taking 1500lbs+. Some of the lites only have 1300-1400lbs for CCC. We aren't gone for more than a week at a time max, and we pack close to 1500lbs. The dry brochure pin weights are for base units without options so checking the 5er's shipping sticker will be key.

Take a look at our signature fifth wheeler- we're very happy with it. But it's gotta have the Diamond package.

what's wrong with the cougar. i have one and love it. Have you looked at the triple slide light weight from rockwood ultra lite and flagstaff?

Turlock Bill - there a number of 33 - 35 foot fivers to choose from. We're Jayco fans and they have 3 or 4 Eagle models between 10,000 & 11,000 pound that might serve you well. I'd suggest you make a list of a upcoming RV shows and spend time walking thru a bunch of units Leave the checkbook at home until you've checked out as many as you can. It sounds weird to think but even @ 33-35 ft, there are compromises. Might be a cramped bedroom & large living room or as in our case, we learned on the first weekend that we have limited cabinet storage foe dishes.

Thank you for your comments, my truck is a 2015 Ram Cummins 3/4 ton so replacing is not an option. I will purchase a 5er that I can safely tow. I just would like your opinion on 5ers are in the moderate price range that will be more for longer trips. Thanks
