Timbrens ride quality?

My dually/5er combo is within pin weight spec, and sits level, but squats a lot with big highway dips.

Thinking of adding Timbrens to control the dip squats.

Can anyone comment on their ride quality when fully loaded?

Pretty light pin weight for dually

Timbrens are not going to improve ride quality.

New set of shocks will do more for that 'rebound effect'
  • I took mine off because of the harsh bounce with lighter pin weight. I made my own stable loads for the leaf springs and now I ride on my overloads and have a softer ride then the Timbrens.
  • First thing to do is throw on a set of Bilstein 4600's. Then if you want more control add bags and run at 30psi LOADED.
  • Mine work great. I installed them to ease the transition on/off my overloads when towing my fifth wheel. It would slam down hard on and off the springs before. 2015 Chev duallie.

  • IMHO shocks would probably help more than Timbrens. As I have read Timbrens can be horrible if you pick the wrong ones, or there not fully loaded.
  • Timbrens do good with a lot of weight. A light pin/payload will have them near the engagement point and the 'sudden' change in spring rate can create a harsh ride.

My experience on a dually with Timbrens; empty truck no issue. ~1500lbs pin and they were terrible and were unbolted and removed during the trip. Over 3000lbs (different trailer) and they were great.
