tire and axle problem

Well I ordered all new 6000 lb springs, wet bolts and u bolts(need Longer) from E Trailer should be here next week. Dexter as a good will gesture(infamous word in the RV industry)because I am 2 weeks out of warranty, They were going to give me 2 5200 lb springs and I said no they all had to be replaced with higher rated ones and wet bolts they said they would send me 4 free but nothing else but I had to pay for return of the old for testing, So needles to say we are doing this right this time.

They are pretty good also, I even stored my RV there for awhile but their lot was always so crowded I was concerned about damage.

Yes the second picture shows the Dexter HD suspension kit installed. Bought direct from Dexter. Periodically they have a sale that is a very good price. etrailer is fine too.

Actually it was alignment tire wear that had started my investigation. The flattened springs had pushed it out of square almost a full inch.

Did you put wet bolts on? Also where did buy yours? E trailer looks like the best price.

Not much to move on the alignment issue. Should bolt right in place. The alignment is pretty much fixed when the hangers are welded to the frame.

Half the effort was just getting the entire trailer up on the 12 ton jack stands (harbor freight).
I did it over two weekends... one each side. Did wet bolts at the same time so a little extra there.

I caught some grief for not replacing the U-bolts. Your call. Has not been an issue.

The biggest thing is making sure they are aligned, I was thinking wet bolts too since 6000 lbs springs are $30 ea at etrailer. This things only 2 years old

x2! Replace all 4 packs and call it good. They're really not that expensive. I also agree with going up in capacity. If you're into the trailer for the long haul, add shocks at the same, time, too. Check out the Joyrider shock kit.

Right now I am trying to see if it's still under warranty and I have looked at higher capacity they are 500 lbs axles. How hard are they to do it yourself?

I've never done springs, myself. I'd think the hardest part might be making sure the axles were aligned properly, and not just with a string to the king pin. :B If you're having the suspension out, I'd replace the equalizers =and= do a wet bolt kit at the same time. I've got a good shop that treats me well, so I'd just as soon have them do the work, if it were me. :B
