tire blowout
my made in china tires exploded on last trip, how can i fix damage to wheel well caused by steel belt. cheaply that is, my insurance company says $1035. damage, ist $1000. on me though

You got off light. Not even an insurance issue by your description of damage. If that is all it needs, spray undercoater to be bure any cracks are sealed.
Mine was much more substantial but I did not call the insurance company. I had an old dually mudflap tha I cut then glued & screwed over the damaged area. Much tougher than slide underside material.
