my made in china tires exploded on last trip, how can i fix damage to wheel well caused by steel belt. cheaply that is, my insurance company says $1035. damage, ist $1000. on me though

Are you absolutely sure your deductible is $1000? This is a comprehensive coverage claim not a collision claim.
Usually your comprehensive deductible is much less than collision deductible. Just wondering!
