Tire brand issue

I am looking for new tires for my 5er, the trailer weighs 13000 lbs, the tires I looked at were Prometers , size 235/85r/16 and they were 14ply, dealer said that the people who pull trailers for a living use them a lot and they have not had any trouble with them , they are a ST
tire. If you have had any experience with these tires or know anything about them would you please let me know. Thanks

The dealer is preaching the gospel of profit..;)

The employees were reading the gospel *of* Micky D's the previous week..;)

Now they are all "ministering" to your vehicles, ROTFL

Or edit, here is the LRG

Should be really good it cost $136.

Simple Tire is a USA (dealer and/or distributor) for ProMeter tires.

Foreign Tire Sales Inc. ("FTS") is the importer of record.

"ProMeter" is a brand manufactured by the Shandong Linglong Rubber Company, LTD, (*not* a pun) located in Zhaoyuan City, China.

    Google *IS* your friend!

BTW - *You* can import/distribute/sell your own brand of tires mfg in China too!..:C
Call them whatever you want, and Alibaba has Chinese mfgrs happy to provide them for you & meet your/USA specs!

"Alibaba" will be happy to help!..:W

On edit....one more Gee Whiz....Google - "Shandong Linglong Tyre lawsuit" (yes - "tyre")

Just one of many on lawsuit!!

    1. Find a different dealer!..:R
(that one is blowing smoke - in re: "people who pull trailers for a living" - who are those people? What *kind* of trailers? They're not on RV Net!)

    2. Select a different tire - *NOT* an ST..:R

    3. Get busy with the search feature.
(You're "behind the 8-ball" with some catching up to do on trailer tires)

However, here's a positive(?) description of Shandong Linglong tires (mfgr of ProMeter) - from our friends "Down Under".
    And....See next post.

    Linglong Tires (tyres)

  • Save $50 and eventually will have $1000 to $2000 damage done to the RV when they blow out. Not good decision making.
  • Looks like you get what you pay for. Cheap price for a cheap tire.
  • Wouldn't put another ST tire on that weight 5th wheel ever! Just looking for trouble. You have more than 1000 lbs on the hitch so 4 3000lb rated LT rires of that size would work perfectly and then you don't have anything to worry about.
