On the duplicate post in Tech Issues, a poster said that he's never heard of this and I agree. Tire replacement first begins inspections - at least before each trip. Is it overkill? No. Correct tire inflation, not overloading - not exceeding the GVWR of the unit, not what you TV can pull, and covering them all leads to good tire life. The next "marker" is the date of manufacture determined by a code stamped on the side of the tire wall. As a general rule, one must not exceed 4 years beyond this no matter how good your tires are. After having a tire separation, we follow this and are taking our rig in for a professional inspection of the tread, sidewall, and to have a "free spin" inspection to check the "round" of the tire and inside condition. Our dealership does this for free. Our tires will be two years old this July.
