Tire monitoring system

No system will protect you from road hazard damage, but they will tell you that you are loosing air in a tire. and just maybe you can do a damage control move?

Actually, a TPMS can warn of an impending blow out. There is generally a rise in the tire's temp before a blow out and most new TPMS systems do monitor tire temperatures. A TPMS can also warn of a hub or bearing issue as those, too, can cause a rise in tire temps.

We have had the pressure pro system on both our Montana's for nearly 8 years. research some post on the damage a blown tire can do to your rig vs the cost of a TMPS. The unit has warned us several times over the years on a tire loosing pressure and prevented damage. We are long timers and put many highway miles a year on the 5th wheel. NO they can not warn against a blow out which is a sudden and catastrophic failure but a undetected loss of pressure will give the same results. IMO worth the cost any quality brand.

Tyler... I've been looking all over the internet, Googled it, Yahoo'd it bunches of times and I can't find a TPMS system by that name. OH I'm sorry, it just hit me, your answer was not what the OP asked huh. My bad.

I have the tire minder.. It does give you peace of mind

We have rubber valve stems on our Honda and the Exploder/Tow'd and haven't had any problems with our TST monitors on them. Changed the batteries last week after about 2.5 years. Only 2 of the o-rings really needed to be changed.

I've had Pressure Pros for about 8 years now and have had several blowouts (until I finally wised up and got away from Goodyear tires). In each case the blow out noise was heard before the Pressure Pro started squealing. IE, the pressure loss was sudden, catastrophic. The Pressure Pro, ironically, did warn me of a slow pressure loss when the Pressure Pro unit caused my rubber valve stem to wear against the tire housing and leak; but since it caused the problem, I can't give it credit.

I went to Michelin Ribs and no problems, no more.

Bad answer. The first time you pickup a piece of debris that pressure you just read on that wheel means nothing. I don't think brand is important but knowing in real time that you have Problem is. JMO

agree .... I once believed that but a blowout that caused thousands of dollars in damage proved I was wrong .... we use a Pressure Pro monitoring system which has given us sufficient warnings of developing problems to prevent damage or drama

I was going to chime in, but you have all the answers you need. Only thing I'll add is my 507 says you don't need metal stems, although I will be getting them with my new tires. Buy them, it's peace of mind.

I purchased a new Grand Design Reflection 5er on Monday, and installed a TST507-flow through system this morning. It was easy to program the limits and install. I had no problems what-so-ever getting readings and using the system.

The display is smaller than a deck of cards, and came with a window mount that I put right above the rear view mirror. The FW is 36 feet long, and I did not need a repeater to get the signal.

It was interesting to view the pressure and temperature changes as I went down the road today, and I really like the fact that if there is a sudden change, it signals an alarm so you can pull over BEFORE you tear the heck out of your fender wells.
