Long story short. Heading north on 15 out of Los Vegas a few years ago. TPMS from TST alarm goes off for left front tire on the RV. Pull over, go out and check, the bearing is burnt up with grease all over the rim. Go back into truck to check TPMS again, temp was up to 267* and pressure up to 167 psi. Was probably only a few miles before tire started on fire and then good by to the RV.
Would I be on the road without a TPMS? Never, never, never!!!! And you can take that to the bank.
CoachNet sent a low boy in to haul us back to Vegas for repairs.
Two months later a couple with the same RV make and year as ours heading back home to MO has the same problem on the same wheel. He did not have a TPMS system, RV burnt up right on the highway, they loss everything in the RV.
So, for those without TPMS systems, would you travel with your rigs without vehicle insurance?
