Tire tread wear.

Good idea and also do a R&R on the reason that brake locks up. No sense /cents in mounting a new tire and flat spotting it also.

NO. Scuffing would be equal on inside and out as there are equal forces on both sides.

Get the worst tire off for a good inspection. Post pictures of the worst area from a few different angles.
May as well post the brand, size, pressure you run, age and the DOT manufacture date code.

I'm with Wilber1, the only time I've had odd wear is when I had a bent axle. We bought our current 5th with new tires on it. I thought that was great till we put 4,000 miles on them and they were wearing bad on the outside of the drivers side tires. Evidently the prior owners had hit something and I had to replace both axles. Now I have correct wear on all tires.

Tread should be flat . You might have broke cords in the tire causing the football shape. Better take a second look. When we had 15" St's on our previous fiver I had broke cords several times causing the roundness of the tread .

The only time I have had abnormal wear on a 5th wheel ST tire was from a bent axle. I run 80 PSI in E rated tires.

I just replaced all 4 tires on my 5th/W they were all 5 years old an

all worn on the o0utside edge. The center of the tire looked new but

because were taking a 5000mi trip next summer I did not want to take

a chance. The old tires side by side with the new ones almost look the

same. Did I do the right thing? Bridgestone tires.

I'm on my 4th set of tires for my 22 year old 5th wheel.

All sets have pretty much stayed flat across the tread. No rounding or scuffing. In fact the tires will stand up on their own when I take them off of the trailer for bearing maintenance or other work.

I do make sure the pressure is correct before and during each trip.

The one time I had a tire with a rounded look to the tread the bands had separated inside of the tire. It was very noticeable and was causing that tire to rub against the front tire on bumps in the road. I began seeing little puffs of smoke in my mirror.

Don't know about ST tires - don't use 'em. My LT tires wear slightly more on the outsides. Always inflated to 80psi

Wear to the outside edges would be more likely caused from under inflation. However, like Lyle suggests above, normally you would see little wear, unless you have alignment issues, or are backing/turning tight frequently, such as into a tight turn concrete driveway.
