I needed a thin wall socket for my wheels

Get a breaker bar, and the correct deep well socket. A 25" breaker bar, deep well socket is much easier to store away than a 4-way, and it will also guarantee you'll be able to break the nuts loose after some moron put them on with air impact turned up to 140 psi. :)

A 4 way is the way to go but you might need a longer lever to break loose.

The 4 way wrench has a ton of advantages over other wrenches. Though I use something different on my ride.

4 ways come in 3 or 4 sizes. The differences are clear. But the biggest advantage is you can apply pure rotational torque to the nuts.. No "Side" force... Why is this important.

On a Ford 350 Custom 10,000 truck (10 bolt circle bolts .. well my Thumb goes easily through the hole in the rim. and my hands are XXXL) I snapped one of those lugs like a toothpick using a standard (Ford supplied) lug wrench.. The 4-way I'd not have done that.

I have.. "Torqued" (Twisted) a 4 way however when the poor MSP troopers could not get the lugs loose on their patrol car. (I had no problem,,,, Suddenly they gave me a whole lot more respect).

First, not all 4-ways have same size sockets. Plus for something you hope to never use, 4-way takes up a lot of room.
OP do you have a socket set? Can you ask somebody that does for help? Try each socket until you find the right size. Go to Harbor Freight (or if you can find in pawn shop) by that size deep well impact 1/2 in drive socket, a 6 inch extension, and a long breaker bar. Yes, likely you will not need the extra strength of impact socket, but the 6 point is good, you have room on the wheel to use, and even quality names brand sockets break. The impact grade is less likely to break.
BTW, if the bar does not give you enough leverage to loosen the nuts take it to a hardware store, buy a pipe as long as, and that will fit over handle. Telescoped out, you can get 50% more power, and take little more room.
