- azjeffhExplorerMy experience is they don't hold up well in Arizona but do elsewhere.
I got a combined ~44 months out of one set of 15" LRDs and 15" LREs. - Dave2001ExplorerMy 5r came with Load Range E Maxxis on it. I just purchased it last fall with the original tires on it and I noticed some cracks starting. The date codes were from 2004. I knew spring would be the time to replace them so I purchased new ones. They have three plies in the sidewall and tow really well. They were $150 a piece, much less than the Michelin XPS Ribs, or the Bridgestone Duravis R250's. They are not available everywhere so you might have to search for them. I've got several hundred miles on them so far and have had no problems with them. I did get them balanced.
- kennethwoosterExplorerI've had very good look with Maxxis. Trailers and pickups. Most were LTs
- riggspExplorer3rd year with Maxxis 8008's with no problems...Upgraded from 15's to 16's with new wheels and tires...found that 1 Maxxis tire weighed almost as much as 1 original tire and wheel together...Maxxis has a stronger sidewall also...so far I'm very pleased...maybe my imagination, but my rig tows easier and smoother now that with the chinese tires and wheels that came on it.
- Jim_SharonExplorerThree trips back and forth from coast to coast on MAXXIS 8008 ST tires, and not one problem. In fact I've only added air from year to year ( not trip to trip ).
If you need to use ST tires, this is the brand I recommend. - jjjExplorerI have a 05 38' Challenger 5r and a little over a year ago I put on a set of Michelin M/S2 on mine. I got them for 200.00 each at Americas Tires. I have about 2000 miles on them and they still look brand new. I keep them covered when it is parked at home and put 303 protectant on them. I don't use any other sealant on them other than the 303. I always run them at 80 psi.
- dezl_drExplorerSailun tires are great if you can run a 235/85/16.
- mileshuffExplorerMaxxis is one of the few decent ST tires. Otherwise go with LT tires such as Michelin XPS Ribs, or the Bridgestone Duramis R250's. Expensive but well worth it.
- ScottGNomadIf your replacing 15" ST's then Maxxis is about the only good choice.
- amxpressExplorerI had Maxxis on my Jayco TT with no problems.
That's one reason I recently installed a set of Maxxis M8008 ST235/80R16 tires on my Columbus, replacing the OEM Akuret china bombs.
I balanced them, too.
When I compare tire to tire, the Maxxis had a much firmer sidewall and weighed more than the Akuret tires.
Very happy with the Maxxis.
