It is time to replace the tires on our 2010 Chevy 3/4 Duramax with approximately 38,000 miles. Currently it has Bridgestones and they have worn well with no problems. We carry about 2800 pounds pin weight. The tire shop recommended Michelins, Firestone Transforce or Bridgestone Dueler in order of price, highest to lowest. All are a LT265/70R17. Since we only use the truck to pull the fifth wheel and it is virtually all highway driving, we are leaning toward the Firestone or Bridgestone tires. What is the experience of folks with these tires?

Might consider the Dura Grappler... I'm getting 4 tomorrow. I'm upgrading from the LT265/70R17 to LT285/70R17 in order to get a higher load rating.

Transforce HT's came stock on my Ram, and I wouldn't recommend them. The good things I can say about them are that they go down the highway pretty quietly and they seem to have pretty good dry traction. They are poor off road and (probably more importantly to you) on wet or snowy/icy roads. They also don't seem to be wearing very well for a highway tire. I'll probably replace them with a Toyo Open Country AT2 or BFG AT/KO2. Maybe even the Cooper ST Maxx although realistically those are probably more aggressive than I need. My wife's Pilot has a set of Dueler Revo 2's on it and they've been really good tires overall but they haven't worn as well as I'd like. I definitely prefer an AT tire on a truck or SUV because they perform well both on and off road, and they're generally pretty good in snow and ice too.

I am now running Michelins on my 2008 2500HD and have had no issues with them. The truck came with Bridgestones that I changed around 35000 miles. They could have gone a little longer but winter was coming. My truck is used for towing and I run errands with it. The Michelins now have about 25,000 miles on them and are still looking pretty good.

I have a 2012 GMC 3500HD with about 65,000 miles on it, still running the Michelins that came on it from the factory.My truck has spent the majority of its life pulling a 5th Wheel in the 16,000 lb. range. coast to coast.I are getting ready to put new tires on it, leaning towards Michelins again since they have given such great service.

I'm in a half ton, but the Michelin Defender LTX M/S has been a significant improvement on my truck. I've gained a bit on mileage and they are much quieter. If I come close to the miles that most get on them, I'll be very happy.

Depending on your usage of the truck outside of towing, you may want to look at the new BFG At KO2's, the are very well reviewed up to date. I just Went with Toyo Open country AT2's and up to date I couldn't be happier with their performance, they have 3000 km's on them.

I have original bridgestones with cracks in the side. I am upgrading to Michelin Defender ltx. heard they are pretty good. I also have tire covers to put on when I don't drive truck. Mostly only three weeks of the year for camping fun. 2009 with just under 30,000 on tires. I want to be safe also that's why I am getting new ones. Michelin is offering 70 bucks back on 4 for first two weeks of May at Discount Tire...fyi

40K on these MS2's with 4,500# pin weight. Well over 1/2 of those miles towing.

How many times have you been stuck on wet grass with the Yokohama tires? It can happen with ANY tire!

I ran Firestone Transforce on my previous 2007 Ram 2500 with GREAT results.

Three months ago put Cooper Discoverer HT3 on current F350 and am very pleased so far. Am towing 38' Montana scaling @14,500.

They're not cheap and not the best winter tire I suspect and not the best in wet grass but I'm definitely ditto'ing the Michelins. I got 85k out of my first and 95 k out of the second. Now on my third set. I have the LTX M/S2 I think.
