I don't believe there's an ST tire on the market that is made in the US. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.
I can't say what the root cause of these chronic failures are. I don't have enough data. I can say that up until it happened to me I was in the "ST tires should be good enough" camp. I'm not an anti-import guy.
My gut feeling is that trailer manufacturers are cutting costs at the expense of quality and have vendors in China that will supply them with cheap tires that don't hold up.
And why not. Trailer manufacturers assume ZERO responsibility for the tires they install and the best you can hope for from a importer of one of these ST paper mache tires is a free one to replace the one that exploded.
Would you risk 1 year. 3000 miles on a set???
