To Cruise or Not To Cruise
For all you Durmax guys out there..... 1) Do use use the cruise control when towing? 2) When you tow do you put the tranny in manual shift mode and keep it out of over drive or leave it in drive...

2: I put in drive and go. I very seldom use tow/haul mode except for help in braking along with the engine brake. I might use tow/haul to get back onto the highway when I join into heavier traffic. Even in the foothills of the Rockies, I use cruise. Truck is a 2011 GMC, 1 ton dually, LB, 4x4. 5er is a 2009, 35 ft. Just purrs along and hardly notice when it downshifts into 5th. The only time I've had it in manual was when I accidentally put the shift handle in manual when driving off. I forgot to add,that I had a 2001 duramax 3/4 ton before this one, drove it for 10 years and drove it the same way as the 2001. No problems
