- gotsmartExplorerI googled: 2002 e450 "cruise control" motor
I also googled: YC2Z9C735AA link:
I hope these links help:

http://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-servo-assy-speed-control_yc2z-9c735-aa.html - NunyadamnExplorerI finally have a solution, but it is expensive. The local Ford dealership says it is my servo motor. They want almost $900 for parts and labor. That seems like a lot to get cruise control working. Anyone know where to buy the right module? I have spent the last couple of hours looking for a 2002 Ford/Fleetwood Jamboree 31W cruise control servo. I have tried every combination of words I could think of. There are servo's out there, but I don't know exactly what part number I need or what it looks like. I need a friend that works at Ford.
- NunyadamnExplorerI tried the following procedure. When I hold the "off" button and turn the key, the light on the dash blinks once. Then I push the "on" button and the light on the dash blinks once. When I push any of the other buttons (resume, set/accel, coast), the light does not blink. When I am driving down the road and turn the cruise on, then select "set/accel", the light on the dash comes on to tell me the cruise is on, but speed does not hold. I am not sure where to go from here. I would suspect the side of the steering wheel with all three buttons (resume, set/accel, coast) could be bad, but why is it when I push the set button would the light come on - as I am driving down the road?
Did you have the recall done on it ?
recall 05S28. Description: Speed Control Deactivation Switch.
It could be a blow fuse in the recall harness, if you did have it done.
Try the self test, and see what the results are. If you do not get it into self test mode, it could be the fuse in teh recall harness that is blown. The 1st revision of the recall harness was an inline ATM fuse, not sure if the revision 2 was the same. If that fuse is blown, the switch is leaking, and should be checked.
Self-Test Diagnostics
WARNING:
This test is a key on engine off (KOEO) test only that is conducted in park only with emergency brake fully engaged.
1. Enter self-test diagnostics by depressing the speed control OFF switch while turning the ignition key ON, making sure the engine does not start and is not running. The speed control indicator on the instrument panel will flash once to indicate that speed control module entered the diagnostic mode. Five additional flashes at this point indicate a defective speed control servo. Release the OFF switch.
2. Press the remaining switches in this sequence: ON, RESUME, COAST and SET/ACCEL.
If the ON switch is not depressed within five seconds after entering the diagnostics mode, the module times out and the procedure must be started over.
The speed control indicator lamp will flash as each switch is depressed. Press each switch in the sequence immediately after the indicator light goes out for the previous switch.
Note:
There will be a slight delay when the last button is pressed and the lamp flashes.
3. A lamp flash with the last button (SET/ACCEL) indicates that the static test passed. If the lamp does not flash with the last button and there are no additional flashes of the lamp, the switch is defective.
If the lamp does not flash with the last button, and additional flashes occur, follow the chart below for trouble codes:
— 2 flashes - BPP defective, circuit is defective, brake applied, CPP switch or jumper (if equipped).
Source: 2002 Ford F150. Cruise control stopped working. - NunyadamnExplorerI don't see any of those other issues. Is it possible for a portion of the VSS circuit to be bad, or is it an all or nothing kind of thing?
- j-dExplorer IIThere's a magnetic pickup device on the rear axle housing called Vehicle Speed Sensor or VSS. If it's OUT, Cruise will not work. But that's not all VSS drives. Antilock Braking System for one, so you shouldn't have total VSS failure and NOT see Check Engine Light/CEL, or Codes if you have a Scanner, Scan Software on a Tablet/Laptop or of course a ScanGauge. Actually, one of those tools should be able to confirm that the VSS and ABS are in fact working.
- NunyadamnExplorerI have a 2002 Fleetwood Jamboree 31W GT and also have a problem with my cruise control. I wanted to ask if anyone (Lalinebacker) has seen where the indicator on the dash shows the cruise is on, but won't hold speed. I too have checked all that I can, but no luck. I can turn on/off/set, but speed just doesn't hold.
- LalinebackerExplorer1- CHECKED ALL FUSES
2- BOTH BRAKE LIGHTS WORKING
3- FOUND NO LOOSE CONNECTIONS

I guess I was lucky. I replaced the OEM Bargman "Triple Recessed" tail lights with Bargman's LED version. Stop lights and Cruise still worked, but Turn Signals flashed so fast that I added incandescent truck lights to my mirrors instead of more LEDs as first planned.
Not trying to start an LED discussion, and I realize I could have used more LEDs and added a resistor. My point is that the cruise still worked, even with brake light reduced to the level of a bulb out.

Check your brake lights. If one of them is blown, it is possible that your cruise control won't let you set and hold a speed.
