Toilet paper test

Three days ago I took four squares of Camco RV toilet paper and the same amount of what we use in the house. Both folded and placed in separate mason jars half full of water, no other additives.

After three days there is no discernable difference in the amount of break down.

So is there an advantage to using the expensive paper sold for RV use?

Welp after reading this thread, I think I have learned nothing :-)

If nothing else I would hope you learned to not buy the high priced RV paper.

No. Do not waste your money on 'RV' toilet paper.

Been using "whatever brand" I prefer - like Charmin for years w/no problems.

Don't care if it's single ply, septic safe, or dissolves easily

Just use lots of water for flush.

And - as others have indicated, SEARCH: - "Toilet Paper"

The number of threads/posts should be right up there with the number of single ply sheets in a std roll....:W

  • We have been using Costco Kirkland brand two ply or the house brand from Sam's Club in both our home septic system and our trailer for over 30 years. Never a problem as long as you use plenty of water to flush.

  • The only thing I learned from this thread, is that none of you are invited to use our toilet - ever!

Seriously though, any TP is fine with me, but don't put Kleenex or similar facial tissue down the toilet. And that applies to RV or home.

And nothing is better at getting a well dumped black tank, than taking a drive before stopping for the dump. Agitation will break up any paper or pyramid. Dump stations on the road are a good thing. At least occasionally.
  • To really test the different toilet paper, put two pieces in two containers with lids on.
Let sit for 5 minutes and then shake.
Now you will see which one breaks down the most!
    Good Luck & Drive Safe!

And what is this suppose to prove?
