Almost any should work assuming that the cover mounts on top of the bed rail and that the hitch is below the bed rail. That pertains to everyone one I've seen but there could be oddballs out there.
I had a rollup cover and while it seems as if it is a good idea, unless the cover roll locks firmly in place, firmly enough to resist the gale force winds under the fifth wheel, then they will unroll and cause you endless grief. I went to a trifold on ours. But I'm not sure how well that would work on a shortbed.`````
