I'd load it up and take it on a short trip over the weekend before going too far. That way you can do a shakedown to make sure everything is good to go. The last thing that you'd want, is to go on big trip right away, and find out that something is not right. Plus by doing that, you get to "learn" all the features of your trailer, and how they work.
