Not that I would condone this with a SUV but thought the concept & execution was excellent.tow it
I've seen one. Neat hitch. Gives you 2 extra tires for braking and helps extra-long FWs track better in a turn, since it kicks the pin out further.

Except lose the advantage 5'ers have with lack of sway over TT. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIThey must be great because they sure are popular, and there are so many of them in use.
- JIMNLINExplorer IIIRV websites are a great source of amusing opinions/silly comments about trucking issues even where tow dollies are concerned.
We think nothing of the trucking industry using several types of tow dollies to make up a A train/etc on our highways.
The first dolly I saw was 40+ years ago and was behind a '70s one ton Suburban pulling a 33'-35' GN LEQ horse trailer. Very popular combo around horse race tracks and horse shows.
This particular tow dolly had 16" truck tires on a 6k rated axle/brakes. With three 6k axle on the trailer plus the dolly gave him 24000 lb of trailer braking performance...... not counting the burb.
This particular owner says his biggest like was no waggin' the dog issues in any situation. - RustyJCExplorer

Just think of the traction that Blazer would have on the rear wheels, it would be great in the snow. :E
Except for that steering thing....

Great!! Now I can tow that New Horizons I've always wanted with my 4 cylinder automatic Ford Ranger!!! :r

Rusty - scbwrExplorer IIHow about the added length? And what about backing up?? And, another large item to store along with fifth wheel. I just don't see this as a viable, working solution that would be preferable to just buying the correct tow vehicle to handle a fifth wheel.
It's really so simple....buy an RV that you can comfortably afford. I was just as happy camping with the family in a pop-up as I was camping in our 29' Sunline or our smaller Minnie. - majorgatorExplorerThe 'ole tow dolly is making its rounds again...
Neat concept, bad application. They've dealt with the effect of pin/hitch weight, but what about tow weight? If the TV has a hitch rated at, say, 10K lbs, then you're still exceeding the rating of your equipment. - Golden_HVACExplorer

I like that!
I posted some detailed pictures of this guy several years ago! If they only had a 2" bar about 2' long hanging out the rear hitch, with springs going up to the fifth wheel's hitch, - garage door springs able to pull with about 400 pounds, then it would bring up the rear bumper of this Blazer, and put more of that weight on the trailer's axles. Much like a weight distribution hitch!
Funny that someone else saved this picture! - robsouthExplorer IIIf you're going to do it, do it right!!!
