That is right lets look at the real picture of your 5er/F150 combination with the landing gear DOWN, heck I could do that with my 2500 and 40' DVR also!!



Real trucks don't need suspension help to support the load!!

Please understand I am not against pulling a 5er with an 1/2 to TV, it is just those that think a F150 is truly capable of pulling a 12K GVWR 5er with a 1/2 ton! There just not enough beef in the truck to support that kind of payload. To get large payload on a 8,200# GVWR the base truck needs to be too light. Weaker frame and weak axles, the weight has to come from some where!

Use the clicky provided to Fords spec sheets and use the 8200 GVWR HD package with 4800 RAWR with the 3.5 GTDI ecoboost engine.

I would look at 5th wheel trailers with 1500 dry/1800 wet pin weight with a 9k-10k GVWR max if your towing in flat country or 8k if your going to the mountains.

If your wanting a larger trailer you will have to move on up to a 3/4 ton truck. And yes you can have too much truck to do a job.

For comparison only, look at the weight of these and see how they compare with the model you are looking at Compare yours to these

Usually, I'd try to stick up for the 1/2 tonners, but I have to agree. No HD payload package and a 10k 5th? I really hope that's GVWR, not dry.

Chances are MOST F150s are not going to have the PAYLOAD capacity for anything but the smallest fiver.
As the tongue weight of a TT is a lot lower than the fiver pin weight, you can TOW a lot more TT than you can CARRY a fiver.
