For what it is worth, we used to tow a 5th wheel with our 1991 Chevy 1500 with a 5 speed and 350 cu. in. engine. Once we got a trailer that was heavier than 6200 lbs. we were out of our league and immediately went to a 3/4 ton (2500) Duramax diesel.
I have to agree with all of the above, you are way out of the capability of the 1500.
