2027 Chevrolet Silverado

Very much looking forward to buying a 2027 revamped Silverado PROVIDED the payload stays the same as the current version or, hopefully, is increased. This time a crew cab, not a double. Any rumors? Yes, I know it’s a partial risk with the two new V-8s.

  • I normaly wait about 2 to 4 years after a new engine release so I can see the issues and decide the risk/benifit of the new engine platform.  all of us who are using diesels will have to make that choice in the very near future.

I was mistaken below when I said new Gen V. I thought the new GenVI engines were just an adaptation of the last 10 years or so GenV, but I believe you’re correct, they are effectively a new engine platform.
Ya personally I’d give to year 2 at a minimum. Especially if I was sitting on a bone reliable 6.2 10 speed that’s proven itself and the truck is still the same chassis effectively.

That’s the safe way but my 2019 has been great too.

  • Lwiddis Id be pumped about the new Gen V engines as well.  Well not new, that’s the good part. Haven’t followed them as much as I could but been around for what? 10 years now?

Did you have th turbo 4 banger in your current truck?
If so how’d it do?  They seem impressive. Miles or issues?

  • Thank you. I currently have air bags to level the truck as did the 2015 Tahoe before the Silverado.

  • Don’t obsess about payload. Glad ton trucks have all been about the same for about forever. Only measurable differences being if Frod still offers a heavier axle. GM and Ram doesn’t and hasn’t had axle gvw options.
payload should be the last thing on the list of considerations as th axles are always stronger than the rating by a good margin and spring rate is cheap n easy to increase.

Yes for sure. I love visiting BC, the people are awesome imo.
That said I did sweat the weight cops a bit on our 2 trips thru when we moved to AK. Glad we didn’t get hassled but if I’d gotten weighed either time I’d have been phucked!
