- thomasgunnarExplorer2003 Crew Cab Short box. I started with a slider then no slider and back to a slider. I have never been in a position where it was necessary to move the hitch back. I went back to the slider just to have the option and the price was very, very good.
- packnratExploreronly thing i read here is ones turing radies.
not to forget there will be times one can high center there trailer on the end of a bed (long bed, unsure about a short bed)
so even the over priced slider can be of value in a long bed.
nore would you have to get off road to fall into such a spot.
. - RWaltExplorerWe have had two Fifth Wheel trailers; an 04 Everest and 09 Big Country. With the Everest we used the slider several times however never used it with Big Country. Again you need to look at your Cap. BTW I agree with the purchasing a 350 verse 250. The F350 will ride a little rougher empty but will not bounce a much with the trailer.
- Dave_H_MExplorer III tow with a short box F 250 crew cab without a slider. No problems.
So I guess if I really tried I could maybe get into the cab.
Also if I did not watch here I was going I could run off the road.
Your choice, maybe find the turning specs on your fifth wheel on a web site.
Good luck and try to deal with the peer pressure - or those who have cranked into a hellacious jack back without watching and messed something up.
Good luck. - stro1965Explorer

Me too, but I suppose not all are the same size. I can turn around in mine without a slider. - Camp_FansExplorerI use my slider every time I leave the house,I live in a cul de sac.

As some one else posted, better to have it and not need it. I have a F350 short bed and a Demco Hijacker autoslide. I am very glad I have it because I have been close to 90 degrees more than once.
+1
Love my Hijacker Autoslide in my 2004 F250 short bed. It does all the work for me AUTOMATICALLY so I can focus on other things instead of worrying about smashing my cab. - wedge542ExplorerI have a short bed f250, pulled our 40ft mnt air, our first 5th wheel and did not even think about a sharp turn till my back glass met the windshield in little chunks and made a little dent next to the rear glass but now thats outta the way ill not forget, youll be ok to after you get that done and outta the way, btw those rear slide windows for the 250 installed almost 400 bucks, not sure what a slider cost.
