Toy Hauler - outside ladder question

I just purchased a brand new 2014 Fuzion 301 TH! We are excited to take it out soon for our first trip.

I do not have a ladder for the outside. I talked with the salesman and he assures me it's OK to walk on the roof for necessary maintenance/repairs.

Problem is that I don't have room to carry an extension ladder in the trailer.

What do you do for a ladder in your toy hauler?

  • The 5th wheel Fuzions come with ladders attached to the sides. Not sure about your bumper pull model. I occasionally go up to clear debris. It is a long way up there, and I can't say that I like being up there much.

I usually like to place my tailgater portable sat antenna up on the roof or bedroom slide out. If room permits I prefer to back my truck along side it and use the side rails of the truck bed to place stuff on the slide out. My roof is still a little out of reach from the truck, but would probably work for your 301.
  • We desert camp and only got on the roof a couple times to spotlight wildlife. Other than that I found no reason to need a ladder while on the road. Maintenance is usually done at home where most folks have ladders...
  • I would think the Fuzion would have came with one of those pull out ladders either on the front or the side. That's how mine is anyways - bolted to the side of the trailer and you can pull it out to use. I'm sure you could buy one of those at the RV shop and they would install it for you.
