Toy Hauler Buyers FYI... Evegreen RV - Closed

Reports are that Evegreen RV the builder of the Amped, Reactor & Tesla Toy Haulers is about to shut down. Read the story here

Unless a buyer steps up and keeps things running this would end factory support and warranty for current owners and future buyers of orphaned RVs.

Just a heads up to be aware.

    The owners looking for warranty will really be getting shafted.

    Yeah the owners that just bought one are the ones I feel for, we all know a new unit needs a few things, but those folks will get nothing.

    A lot of used units out there, but a lot of owners are upside down on them and can't easily get out from under them. The new units seem to be moving from what I see on my drive by visuals. The reports are that sales have rebounded pretty solid. Even Evergreen was having good sales, but sounds like they were not making money on those sales.
  • Actually the industry is booming and working on another record year.
  • I'm surprised so many RV mfg are still operating. A lot of units sitting on lots all over the place.
  • That's some tough news for owners. The employees will find jobs as the market is booming. The owners looking for warranty will really be getting shafted. I considered Tesla before my XLR. Scary thought.
  • Word from the Elkhart Truth Newspaper is that Everygreen has closed. What's unknown is what comes next, is there a potential buyer and would warranties be voided or not if the company is purchased.

    A few highlights;

    "Rumors about the company's demise began swirling on Tuesday... employees and county officials said EverGreen shut down its operations on Friday."

    "The company employed about 400 people"

    "warranties for EverGreen products would be voided and spare parts would no longer be available"
  • Just guessing but could be under capitalized and perhaps not enough cash flow to cover operations.
  • It's not like no one else makes toy haulers and travel trailers. Competition is pretty fierce. And really sales growth is nice but the bottom line is the bottom line and does matter.
  • I agree, if sales were good and on a growth pattern I can see them being bought out. But would seem that would have been started before shutting the doors. Thor, Forest River and Jayco have all bought up some competition, I'll be curious to see if that happens here. Just hope buyers don't get burned leaving owners with no warratny.
  • Great sales, but can't seem to make any money?! Would be interesting to know where they were hemorrhaging.
