New member here and worse yet... NEWBIE TO CAMPING! That being said, we have decided to make the plunge and purchase a toy hauler. Problem is I am completely overloaded and overwhelmed with trying to decide which toy hauler is the best bang for the buck and which one offers the best quality in construction.Our NEEDS:DurableQualityNice!!!Our WANTS:DurableQualityNICE!!!Okay so I suppose I should list a few specifics:We race motocross so we will be hauling 2-3 race bikesWe have a 2011 GMC duramax We also have a Ford F-550Not sure which one we will outfit to haul our new addition but know they both will get the job done nicely.We want a king bed in the bedroom and a loft as well as sleeping capabilities in the hauler. We want storage space in the basement of the unitLike I said earlier, we like the Raptor Velocity and the XLRWe will primarily use at the tracks but want something to use in our down time as well.Point is we would like opinions on ownership of the various brands/ models on the market. What brands held up the best. The least amount of warranty issues and overall satisfaction of the brand you own. Our last two RVs chosen that way we have kept for over 16 years. Our current 5th wheel is going on 19 years. It is very comfortable and functional.Get what you want and like... everyone's needs and wants will be different.

THose are very general needs/wants that you could argue everyone wants in a toyhauler. YOu need to list out more specifics about what you are planning to haul, your tow vehicle specs, budget, etc...

I would suggest going to the websites of the units you like and printing off the standard and optional features. Go down the list of needs and wants and get some pricing to see if it is where you want to be. Also, depending on what you pick take in to consideration the tow vehicle you will need to haul the unit you pick. This is just my opinion but if you go with any triple axle toy hauler you should consider a newer 1-ton dually to haul it.

We just moved from a KZ to a Keystone Raptor. Typical, little thing that need personal touches but overall after 1800 miles everything is working good. We are adding storage in some areas and putting extra shelves in others. Drop me a pm for more in depth info.

We have a Raptor and its been pretty good so far. We do the Dirtbike and quad thing and it works for us. It does sleep a butt load of people. Quality is a bit subjective. Since you guys race and are used to stuff failing/breaking than a RV is right up your ally. IMHO if you go to the local races and camp a mainstream TH should be ok. If you are racing 30 or more weekends a year than u may be disappointed. A more serious race trailer may be in order.

Good luck finding your new toy hauler!. As you indicated about the Voltage, you are correct. Stay away from it. There are people out there that have only had a few problems, and some with alot, including major troubles resulting in them unloading them for something else. I am stuck with a P.O.S., the problems are never ending with mine.

We have a Fusion 315 and after living in it from the end of January to mid April, we still really like it. So far issues have been minimal. It seems to be holding up well. It is a bit on the heavy side, but with the tow vehicles you have you will have no issues. There is a lot of storage. You would have to go larger than the 315 to have a king size bed, but that 550 you have will tow about anything. Good luck on your search.

KZ has a really good reputation. They have some nice 5th wheels.

We race quads in NC and SC. So we're in a similar situation as what you're getting into.

For starters, our Cyclone and dealing with Heartland has been a nightmare. Enough said about that.

I love the Raptor Velocity and the XLRs. Great choices but I think leaving out the Voltages is a possible mistake. I like them. Infernos are great and I believe they still come with a 2 year warranty. That's a rarity.

Now the BIG question. Will you be using this for almost entirely racing at the tracks? If so, I'd go a different route. Look into the Work & Play toy haulers or a dedicated race trailer. Their garages are usually much bigger and they seem to be built tougher for that type of camping.

But they aren't nearly as "nice" inside as the typical brands you've already mentioned. If you plan to use it a lot on just regular camping trips, you'll probably want to stay with the Raptors, etc..
