The garage is a great mud room. We also keep the dogs' water and food in there.

When we had 4 grandkids traveling with us, we had a Jayco quad bunk with an 11' slide. Master was up front, and kids could have a small pedestal table in their area. Never felt too small, with them at one end and us at the other. (We would go all year round, so had some rainy days...) The TH we have now works very well for just the 2 of us, and that is how we mostly use it. When we have the grand-daughter, as we did over the 4th, she 'owns' the rear. It is a 2014 Stealth AK2612, no slide, and we are very happy with it. I only haul a Harley with it, and only a few times, but will be more, as we range further from home. Could not tow without a 3500 truck, so if I didn't have that truck already, could not have done the TH. And, as an earlier post noted, the increased capacities and generator give us more options on where to go.

I went with the Toy Hauler. Sometimes we take the Gem Car, sometimes I load my RC planes. More room without slide outs. What a great idea. A garage! Love it! I have been very happy with my Forest River Stealth. When camping, you can take Bikes, Quads, BBQ's, anything just about. Seems like mine is very heavy duty. Large springs and Frame, 200 gallons water, 50-50 holding tanks, 5500 Generator. 7 years old and no problems. All the bells and whistles. Now if I can only find a RV campground that is not booked 9 months in advance. My only *****.

We currently have a fifth wheel, not a bunkhouse and we have decided to go with a toy hauler.
Since most of the TH that we have looked at have something in the garage that makes a bed the boy's will have their own space and we can bring more toys along

Went from a TT Bunkhouse to a Fifth Wheel TH. Don't regret it at all. Kiddo has special needs and a lot of equipment. We can take everything plus his wheelchair and have room for everything now. 3 of us plus 2 dogs and its working out great. I will admit it is way heavier than the TT but worth it. The nice thing is having the 2 patios and the rear garage as an extra room to hang out in.

Hmmmmmm, I never thought about buying a toyhauler because I have kids.
I bought a toyhauler to haul my toys.
Which my kids rode on and in.
My kids grew up with quads and camping.

Tdubya- The 5th wheel i currently have the bunk room is it's own room with door off the back. Very similar to what a toy hauler has now. So it wouldn't necessarily benefit in that way.

N-trouble- One problem is play area. Camping with little ones trying to eat stones all the time gets frustrating. I would think a side and back patio would help in that they have there area to play and can only get into what you give them. Also down the road with bikes, etc. the garage would help getting things to the campground.

I also want a toy hauler but need justification for the wife.. I really don't want to buy one then miss the bunk house and have to tell her she is right.

There is a few others things i currently don't like about my camper but most of them could be solved with a newer bunk house.

I think we're going to move from our fifth wheel bunkhouse trailer to a toy hauler at some point. Bringing toys and "stuff" along now is challenging because so much of the bed is tied up with the hitch, trailer and a large kennel for our dog, and the cargo space in the trailer is limited.

A toy hauler really helps mitigate the cargo carrying issue. We also generally prefer to dry camp and the larger tanks and on-board (gas powered) generator would make it a more comfortable experience.

We aren't 100% yet and for now our current camper works fine, but it's something we're thinking about seriously in the next few years.

TH's are relatively expensive (for what you actually get) and heavy with more than average tongue/pin weights.

I'd agree with N-Trouble's questions above, unless you really want a toy-hauler to haul your toys.
