Contact cement could melt styrofoam if contact is direct....I would go with a construction adhesive, why would it be difficult to clamp? Several 2x4's across with clamps would work...Or just weight from top....Contact cement is good but requires some very clean dust free surfacing to work correctly, much more sensitive to work with and prone to failure because of that....
