For info/opinions from actual Carlisle users with bigger trailers:
Here's a link to a thread from last fall in which a fair number of them reported on their experience :Carlisle tires.
I see nothing in that thread regarding use on heavy trailers.
:h
I'd suggest to the O.P. that he look at the posts and profiles in that thread more carefully than you evidently did.
There's a mix of good and bad reports there from users, O.P., and most of the usual background noise was rather skillfully edited out by the Mod before he finally closed the thread. - jdgreen42ExplorerThanks guys-

I see nothing in that thread regarding use on heavy trailers. And the same Carlisle cheerleaders with smaller trailers.
What we need is someone with 7k axles to report in. Chris - Bionic_ManExplorerFor a 5er, I would look at a LT tire, as others have suggested.
It is my opinion that pretty much all ST tires are the same. I have a boat trailer with 14" rims that limits my options, and have had tread separation on ST tires made in China, Canada, and the US. In my experience, it doesn't matter brand or where they are made, you just need to take extra precautions with them and change them out after 4 - 5 years of date of manufacture. - RandACampinExplorer IIHow many of you bad-mouthing Carlisle have actually used them like the OP asked?
I had a set and they were some of the best trailer tires I ever had. iwore them completey out to the tread-wear indicators. - Francesca_KnowlExplorer

My bad Chris, all I saw was what was in his sig....Yep, guess we need to know more....thx buddy. - Me_AgainExplorer IIILater he says in a post he just got a 2012 Open Range!
- NC_HaulerExplorerLike "me again" stated, need some more info on your 5er...What's the GVW of it, tires on it now and if known, axle weight rating....This would give us an idea of what tire you need.
I agree with others that I wouldn't use Carlisle tires on my 5er, though I have to admit, I belive I have them on my riding lawnmower.
ON EDIT: It appears OP has 05 Montana Mountaineer'5er with GVW of 12,040#, would think 5 or 6,000# rated axles an either D or E rated tires? IF I got the right model... - fj12ryderExplorer IIII wouldn't put an ST tire on a tall heavy 5th wheel/toyhauler. I don't know about their latest offering, but AFAIC my first sentence still applies.
