The comment about motor homes running the furnace to heat the rigs while traveling, From what I've seen at shows, most A's use a hot water circulation system off the engine same as a car.
No matter what the case, I won't travel with the refrigerator, or the furnace running and the propane open. I've had two very close friends killed by a propane explosion and I care not to join them!

But before spreading bad info at least do what you suggested others do.....Check the State Laws/Restrictions first.
Propane system on a RV be it MH, popup or any other RV has numerous safety features & devices built in making it safer than the fuel tank and/or engine fuel system used by RV or tow vehicle.
Sorry for your friends tragedy.
Propane, natural gas explosions are usually from improper use.
Again your choice.
But do you sleep in your RV and use the propane?
