tri glide

Looks like I will be replacing my tri glide air ride pin box . This is the model with the plate on the bottom that moves back and fourth. It has 9 zerk fittings that I grease every trip. The plate can move now with just a push of my finger banging on stop and go situations . lippert says I need to buy a replacement bottom plate that is solid. So think I will weld it solid for now and buy a mor ryde in the future.
  • Be careful that some of those rollers aren't busted. Two of the three rollers on mine had failed. If the third had failed the trailer would have gone its own way. I got a new Trailair minus the TriGlide.

Was your ride much different with the solid pinbox. We also have a tri glide hopefully we don't get any issues. I will keep a close eye on it.
  • well all welded solid today will find out when I take it home tonight how it pulls. Wont be any banging that's for sure.
  • Honestly I added the TriGlice to my 07.5 MobileSuites it did not do that much as I really did not have a chucking issue after adding air bags and Bilstein's.

I have the TriGlide on my 16 MS. If it fails I would just weld it up. I would not be without the air bag portion!
  • Lippert has been REPLACING the bottom jaw with a stationary jaw, or the entire box with the Flex Air...

Over on the Redwood forums a bunch of the tri-glides were replaced, including mine..

    ** On EDIT**

Mine was replaced with the flex air, and the ride improved dramatically! Same a the tri-glide without the fore and aft "gliding" that always scared me.
  • Lippert replaced the tri-glide jaw on mine with a solid jaw three months ago, same as you would get by welding except it lowered the trailer by the thickness of the roller assembly. Jaw, new air bag, shock and bolts were free, labor included but I chose to do the work myself.
  • FlexAir would be fine but I don't think they rate one HD enough for my DRV.

    I believe that the Flex-Air is 18K max. . ..
