I'll agree with him ^^^^^ that setup looks like an accident looking for a place to happen....a sudden/panic/evasive maneuver would not have a good outcome.

Sorry transamz9, if I came upon you with that setup on the highway I'd be giving you lots of room.

That is scary just looking at it parked.

It is seen way too often. Far too much trailer for the truck. How often do you see somebody going back to a SRW after having a DRW? How often do you see the comment "Never going back to a SRW" after getting a DRW?

Not being easy to fit in parking bays or 'too big to be my daily driver' is no excuse for sacrificing the safety & stability of a DRW. Park out in the fat a$$ section of the lot & walk to the door. The hike is good for your heart. Get a fuel sipping little car like a Yaris or Mazda 2 instead of the 1 ton guzzler for a get around town daily driver.

Well I guess we will have to agree to disagree then. I have had some pretty rough maneuvers at 65+ on the interstate because of stupid drivers and the ole 2500 handled the tail wag great. I guess there are different skill levels that have to be though of too I guess. Also , a 4500# boat hooked to the back helps keep the tail wag down to a minimum too. ;)

I guess if someone didn't know any better and just judged a book by it's cover then they would pick the truck with six wheels on in. I will tell you this. It is amazing what you can do if you place the correct "band-aids" in the correct place.:W

If you look closely also you will see that they both have the exact same band , model , and size tire on them. One just has two extra on the rear. Both trucks also have a 2" lift under the fronts.

Not just 50% more tires but more weight on the ground.

I would not be caught dead driving your SRW with that load.

I personally know what happens when you have too much tail for the dog. It's called trailer actually passing me flipping on it's side and causing me to 180 and completely roll over.

Threw a dually in front of the exact same load and never even dreamed of going out of control after that.

So I do have a little experience in the tail wagging the dog.

Handling the weight(???) and being over recommended weights are 2 different things. Why not post the weights and ratings and see what they look like? Be interesting.

Yes I see the "PROBABLY" in your post. I'm not denying that the wesdlewis's SRW truck was over a recommended weight or two. You said that because he had a srw truck pulling a 40'er was the reason it didn't handle very well and that when he got the DRW is why it handled better. I call BS. The two extra tires are not that big of a difference. The wesdlewis is not giving the whole story.
