What do YOU do?
What will I do? Waiting for the miserable pleated shades strings to fail so I can remove them and install roll up window shades in their place. In the meantime, mine are more down than up with no ill effects.
FYI I've restrung a couple of mine and it's pretty easy. You can get the cord at a fabric store. Here's a couple links for you:
