We regetted buying a fifth. Have a 2002 GMC 1500 and bought a 24.5 fith. Even with it being a small fifth it was to much to tow with our truck. Went back to a TT.
5th wheels require enough truck, that is for sure.
I pull an 33' 11,000+ (12,300# GVWR) with my 01 Ram 2500 Camper Special. I have no issues pulling or with stability. Just pulled home from the coast Sunday in high winds and driving rain no issues.
Biggest complaint I have seen is many don't like the number of steps. Most 5ers sit higher than TT's, more steps to get in then the steps up to the upper level.
Towing is a dream, no sway, solid and stable by design.
