I was pulling my 5th wheel through Kansas on I80 in a fierce side/head wind, the only problem I had was my fuel economy went from ~11.5 to ~6 mpg. No TTs on that highway, they were all pulled over waiting out the wind, likewise motor homes were off the road too. Normally, I hardly know there's anything back there when I'm towing, except I know I'm wider and more apt to have the 5er track inside when turning. I went through that decision making process 4 years ago and am glad I opted for the 5th wheel, especially when I watch my travel companions struggling to hook/unhook.
