We have had both and it is a personal decision. Advantages of TT: easier backing until you get the hang of the 5er, you don't have to remove the hitch to use the truck for other "stuff" even though DH says it is not difficult, can carry bikes, etc. in bed of truck. Advantages of 5er: Hitching & Unhitching easier - BUT you MUST do it carefully w/out distractions - you don't want to drop the 5er on the truck, towing in wind, incredible amount of storage. You would have to look at what is important to you personally, but...if you are heading down the road - for vacation or weekend of camping either would be great! Best Wishes
