First TT in 1976
First (and only) 5th in 2006. Still have it.
Had all the "trick" add-ons for towing the TTs. Sway control, etc.
(Although never a Hensley).
Tow vehicles (for the TTs) over the years were two 3/4 ton vans, and a 1T diesel pickup.
Main advantage of the 5th - the difference in towing is night and day!
You can forget it's back there - no problems with wind, semis passing, etc.
Main DISadvantage of 5th: you lose the use of the bed of a pickup for "toys" (like MCs) that don't fit in storage compts.
If you have those - a 5th wheel toy hauler should be a strong contender!
Also - if you have bad knees, or? - the 5th usually has steps to the bathroom and bedroom. (TT is all one level).
