TT vs. 5th wheel: ease of towing
I've been towing TT's for years. Tired of doing all the towing. I want my wife to help out on long hauls but she is not at all comfortable getting behind the wheel (see my rig in my "signature" below)...

In the 5th wheel forum they will be pro 5th wheel in the TT forum they will be pro TT.
The first thing people do is buy a larger truck when buying a 5th wheel. The TT will tow a lot better behind a 3500 series truck as well.
I doubt going to a larger truck and bigger camper will make your wife more comfortable towing. Practice and driving will.
I own a 32' Keystone 5th wheel and a 30' TT and both tow just fine behind the one ton.
You are retired if you are pushing yourself to the point of being tired you need to drive less miles. Stop and smell the roses.
