TT vs. 5th wheel: ease of towing
I've been towing TT's for years. Tired of doing all the towing. I want my wife to help out on long hauls but she is not at all comfortable getting behind the wheel (see my rig in my "signature" below)...

As other have said you will get most folks preferring the 5er in this forum.
However, I have had both TT and 5er and I definitely think a 5er is easier to tow and more stable.
If you decide to go with a 5er, as you wisely noted, you will need a different truck. The F150 Supercrew will not have enough load capacity to deal with a 5er's pin weight. Yes, there are quite a few 5ers out there that the manufacturers designate as 'half-ton towable' - mine is one of them.
However, I would never tow mine with a half ton.
Manufacturers are saying that based on numbers that, in real-life, would be hard to do. :)
